Tirzepatide is a dual-acting GLP-1 and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor agonist-stimulating glucagon release during hypoglycemia. Increases glucose-dependent insulin secretion, slows gastric emptying; also acts in the areas of the brain involved in regulation of appetite and caloric intake.
